Ethnicity
The whole idea was to merge modern and traditional representations of ethnicity, specifically Hindu culture.
Modernity was shown through the non restricted rules, such as out having fun with a friend of a different race, religion and background. Also the independence of the young girl.
Traditional sari worn while dancing in a typical British countryside = merge of two different cultures, showing the idealistic sense of British unity.
Social Class
Lower class/poverty demonstrated through homeless girl, struggling and begging.
Higher class demonstrated through the London and materialistic world, through the main character who intertextually resembles Cher from Clueless, through getting taxis and holding lots of shopping bags.
At the end when all girls unite, the social class interaction demonstrates the rich helping the poor, which is an unlikely dynamic.
