Research into artist/band websites from same genre - Calvin Harris

Calvin Harris

The front page image is Calvin Harris newly released single. When hoovered over the image changes colour from light grey to pink, the pink is similar to the website's background colour ad therefore blends in well.
The logo is dominant in the left hand corner at the top of the website page. Capitalised, bold, underlined and white. The logo sits of an almost
grey transparent border strip. Then below is the menu bar.
The menu bar consists of a lot of sections in a black, horizontal box.
The background colour is a faded pink, this represents the artist's confidence to break social norms that pink can only show femininity.
The pink has a stain effect, giving it an edgy look.

Scrolling down on the home page, it reveals a twitter access box to the right side of the page, showing Calvin Harris activity on social media immediately, therefore keeping fans updated.
Progressively down the page the viewer of the website is shown the extent of the amount of artists Calvin Harris has worked and made music with. Showing the music single covers.






When hoovered over the image it would reverse into a faded, blue version of the previous image. Showing the artists' creativity of his music through his representation of his website.











When on News, it showed his new releases with titles of 'watch now', therefore linking to YouTube. 

Shows is available for the user to click onto to see if there are any upcoming events they may want to attend.
When the viewer wants to observe the artists' releases it is able to choose from the choice of two pages, albums and singles. Shown in the image to the left and below, when the user hoovers over either albums or singles the box surrounding the word changes to luminous blue.
The releases' section also allows you to select singles. Once pressed it reveals the artist's singles in the same orderly format, with a white box background, defining the square shaped singles' images.
Once clicked onto videos in the menu bar it reveals the wide selection this artist has created. The videos allow the user to click onto and see the video through YouTube. The artist's artistic choice of single covers, show their diverse colour palette on their website.






When the user clicks on Vegas in the menu bar it is linked to another page, seen in the right image. Revealing the poster of his upcoming appearance.






Once clicked onto Store it linked to another web page showing the items available for fans to buy. The website had a different background colour of white but a similar image of the single track cover, following the advertising for the music not just the fan items.




The items were presented in the way presented on the right, looking bold in front of the white background. The items were vibrant colours.






When hoovered over the image it displayed the price and item name in a light grey, transparent box format.






Subscribe led to another page, on the right image. Revealing the social media accounts available to sign up with and below the personal information the user has to fill out.
Finally the Contact page had a simple format, expressing the name, email contact and message that the user needed to fill out.
